Beaded Length: 33.8 inches. Width: 9.5 inches. Length w/fringe:  50.0 inches.

Beads:

Columns: 258. Rows: 7. Beads: 1,806.

Materials:

Plant fiber and sinew. Wrap: red cloth.

Description:

Six checkered white shell wampum diamonds and a black shell background. Outer warps wrapped with a red fabric (SRAC, 2007).

Returned to the Oneida Nation August 1997: (Rome Sentinel Newspaper).

The six diamonds represent the six nations of the confederacy.

Baker (2007) suggested the belt may be of Wendat origin.
